Thanks to Liz for the George W. Parsons listing in 1880 ancestry.com.  Heritage Quest did bring him up but because his age was 25 years off, I thought it had to be someone else who I didn't have.  Plus he was living in a hotel run by Isaac Ullman, which seemed odd considering he had a large farm maybe a mile from downtown Salisbury.  And, his death notice in the Salisbury Advertiser said he lived on the old family homestead outside of Salisbury of about 1,000 acres.  Just goes to show you how off the census ages can be. Geo. W. Parsons     65 --should be 41 (1839-1888) son of Jehu & Esther Parsons and uncle to A.F.P. and Jehu T. Parsons; 1870 age 30, farmer A.F. P. Parsons     59  --should be 36--Allison Francis Parsons (1844-1900/10).  grandson of Jehu & Esther Parsons; 1870 23 and lived with sister Mary and husband Jehu T. Parsons     50  --should be 31 (1849-1916)  brother of A.F.P.; 1870 21, lived with sister Mary and husband George B. Hart So now we know that John H. West aged 2, mulatto, in 1870 who lived in the household of George W. Parsons, is not still with George in 1880 and also that John is not in Worcester, Wicomico or Somerset Counties in 1880.  The closest person in age is the John T. West, 18, black in 1880 who is with his presumed brother Handy West.  Handy appears to be the son of a Peter West.  We might further hypothesize that John T. was farmed out as a toddler (can't find Peter and wife in 1870), thus ending up "apprenticed" with George W.
