They are all posted on Ancestry.com in a public tree entitled West, Lowry, Loxley Bayles and related lines. If you aren't an Ancestry member, I can invite you to view the tree. The known family is Nancy Holloway and her husband James West. They had two sons named James and Ebenezer, as well as three daughters named Polly, Elizabeth and Leah. while I don't have the proof, I believe Nancy traces back through Thomas Holloway and John Holloway. Thomas Holloway's will clearly names two sons, Kendle and Ebenezer, as well as two daughters: Elizabeth and Leah. Bessie's book is confusing in her coverage of this family, stating that Kendle likely had no family, while Ebenezer certainly did. The repetition of names through the generations, however, makes a compelling case for Kendle to be Nancy's father. Nancy and James West named their sons James and Ebenezer, repeating the Ebenezer name. They also repeat the Elizabeth and Leah forenames. When Ebenezer West married Mary Morris West, daughter of my fourth great grandfather Kendle West(another West lines just to confuse things), they produce two sons, with the oldest being Kendle Holloway West and the youngest Ebenezer Holloway West. If the Nancy Holloway line doesn't go back through Thomas Holloway, why would Ebenezer and Mary Morris West name their two sons after Thomas Holloway's sons, with the middle name being Holloway for both? Walt, I too find Bessie's book hard to follow but it is an amazing accomplishment , and typed herself before word processors. I've looked at your Ancestry Tree--thanks for pointing it out. I think your speculation on Nancy's line is probably accurate. My Ancestry tree includes Holloways but not all the info I have gathered on this confusing family--all the lines use the same names over and over and they marry other Holloways!
