    3. Looking at the index on MDLandRec, there are quite a number of transactions where a Thomas Waller/Walter is the grantor/grantee.  But I don't see anything around that year noted as a page 137. If you haven't done so, it might be fruitful to step through those that are a few years on either side -- I've often found records by widening my path just outside of where I expected them to be. You don't state who the other party was -- of course, if you know that it makes it much easier to go through the index successfully. Best of luck! -Wendy ________________________________ From: "tarantulac@aol.com" <tarantulac@aol.com> To: lower-delmarva-roots@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, July 10, 2012 7:41 PM Subject: [LDR] finding a land grant in Maryland Ok, I'm stumped. I've been trying to work my way through the Maryland Land records online and still cannot find a particular land grant. Per the Deed that I transcribed, this particular piece, called Parish, was 100 acres, grant date of March 2, 1730 to a Thomas Waller of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland.  It also states in the Deed that this grant is found in Land Office Liber PL N 8 folio 137.  I tried to enter that into the Maryland Land records and got zilch.  Tried the PL 8 in the unpatented listing in Maryland Land records and still nothing. I'd like get my hands on this but I think I'm having a bad case of operator error.  Or is this a case of having to go to the Maryland Archives (cringe) and gain a copy there? I would greatly appreciate any thoughts, knowledge, assistance with this dilemma. Teresa A. 3. I just looked through the index too, and didn't see a grant to Thomas Waller in 1730. Who was the grantor? I also looked through the Rent Rolls, and I didn't see a "Parish" listed.
