Stratton Nottingham's book "Soldiers and Sailors of the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the Rev. War" states that James Ball and SEGER BALL were soldiers in the Virginia Continental Line in the Rev. War and their ONLY HEIRS at law were Christopher Ball, John Ball, Samuel Ball, Levi Ball, William Ball and Elizabeth Richardson. I can find nothing about SEGER BALL. Does anyone know anything about him??? Doris LeClerc Ball and George L. Ball's book "The Ball Family of the Potomac 1654-2004" states that the children of James Ball and Sarah (Jones) are: James, John, Matthew, Daniel, Gerrett, George, William, Christopher, Joseph, Lydia. NOTE: There is no Levi listed as a child of James Ball but a Levi Ball is listed as an heir of Seger Ball and James Ball. There is a Levi Ball listed in Peden's "Rev. Patriots of Worcester and Somerset Co., MD" as a Private, Worcester Militia, Wicomico Bn., Capt. James Patterson's Co., July 15,1780 (Ref: M-258). Took oath of Allegence in Worcester Co. in 1778 (Ref: J-1814) (Box 4). What confuses me is that Levi Ball died Aug. 8, 1807 intestate and a Worcester Co., MD record states: John Ball, Samuel Ball, Levi Ball request that THE ADMINISTRATION OF THEIR FATHER, LEVY BALL'S ESTATE be granted to their brother Christopher Ball. Elizabeth Ball, widow of Levi Ball requests that the administration of her husband's estate be granted to Christopher Ball. Bonds: John R. Slocomb and Joseph Stevenson. (Another record lists John Ball, Lawrence Ball and Levi gives administration to brother Christopher Ball.) Can anyone straighten this out for me. Who are Seger Ball's heirs? Who is Seger Ball? Who is the father of Levi Ball who died in 1807? Thanks so very much for taking the time to help me straighten out this mess. Clare
