Hi, Just have to jump into this one. My great grandfather, William E. Smith, left that area when he was about 18. This was about 1885. He never could really say where he lived, and I couldn't figure that out. Sometimes he said Maryland; other times he said Delaware. One census had it listed as Unknown. The one article I read about it called it the Transpeninsular Line, but it said the locals called it the Mason-Dixon Line.
