I did not know John Lyon. I have been working on finding my ancestors in the DelMarVA area for about ten years now and have received great help from some on this site and other sites. Also, I live in California and I just returned from a trip to personally visit the Maryland State Archives. I want to say how thankful I am for one of the paid librarians there who was most helpful in working down through various reference documents, index cards and family records so that I did find and make copies of the documents that I was unable to get otherwise. We all need to understand and appreciate the help each of these generosity of the helpful people like John. I commend him for all the service he generously donated to all of us. I also appreciate those who serve and use this web site. It serves a good purpose for all of us who are searching for actual records of our ancestors. I am sorry to hear of John Lyons death. I have enjoyed his presentations in Cambridge and Family History classes on Eastern Shore family history.
