This is part of a message you sent on 20 Dec 08 I recently found the deed where Joseph MARVEL purchased the tract "Spicers Purchase" in Worcester County, MD land records. 6 Aug 1771 John CONWAY sold "Spicers Purchase" to Joseph MARVEL, 43 3/4 acres, cost was 18 pounds. Spicers Purchase was near the head of Raccoon Swamp on the side of a road that leads from Indian River to Gravelly Branch. (present day Sussex Co., DE) -- I am trying to find the Conway whose daughter, Rebecca (Betsy) Conway who married John Dougherty Doxey in about 1813.
