I connect to this line back to the first Richard Crockett. Please let everyone know if you ever "stumble" across where the first Richard came from. The family "ledgend" says French. Others have said Irish. I have always wondered about the connection to Joseph V as my Nicholas was in Vienna MD with his Benton for several years and had always assumed they were "cousins" of some sort but could never figure out the connection.
