    1. Re: [LDR] Nanticoke River Branches
    2. Using a modern book of maps for Sussex County, I find two places with the name of Mirey Branch. 1. Between Millsboro and Georgetown - coming off a north point of Millsboro Pond and running north west across Rt 113 crossing Piney Grove Rd and then just north of Piney Grove and Providence Church. 2. North East of Laurel - Elliott Pond Branch connects Chipman Pond and Wileys Pond. About midway between these two ponds is the connection to Mirey Branch. It then runs north across County Seat Highway (Rt 9) and over Mirey Branch Road, Running parallel to Fire Tower Road. In a message dated 10/6/2008 9:53:38 A.M. My latest find is a Sussex orphan court document that sets off the dower lands for Sarah Griffith widow of Charles Griffith and it shows a drawing of the land bordering on the "N. E. fork of the Nanticoke called Miry Branch" I believe it is probably north of Bridgeville perhaps between Greenwood and the Kent- Sussex border but I have combed the DataMIL map and can't find it. Is it on anyone's radar ??? My second question is about the Nanticoke, in Delaware it appears north of Bridgeville all the way to the Kent - Sussex border as "Nanticoke River" but below that closer to Seaford that continuous body of water has no name - then it reappears as the Nanticoke near the Md. border ........Why ??? 3. Great information and I found it on the map but I don't think that is the correct branch .....because it flows into the Indian River therefore is not a branch of the Nanticoke as the record clearly states .....although that is very interesting what with Wileys Pond being included I guess I need more information Thanks for your help Carol -------------------------------------------------- From: <Bluelightning75@aol.com> Sent: Monday, October 06, 2008 4:52 PM To: <lower-delmarva-roots@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [LDR] Nanticoke River Branches > Using a modern book of maps for Sussex County, I find two places with the > name of Mirey Branch. > > 1.
