Quote: I cannot express enough the value of this resource...both from a macro-historical level of....Unquote. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I for one furriner am green with envy at the opportunities you close-ies have to observe, learn, and use. Have any of you figured out how to run a camera over the shoulders, etc so we could buy copies? Having been close for years to good libraries, the dearth of them (and the convenience as well) is real cause for mourning. There is, as yet, no substitute, so we furriners try to egg you haves into something to share with we have-nots. We don't mind paying the traffic. We might would even donate copies to small impecunious county libraries we live near. One can never have too much information for us masses. We gobble it up like smoking opium! Mike Hitch, I know what a real surprise it was to me to finally puzzle out an Old German handwritten document re a 1700s citizen---didn't get absolutely all of it, but enough to understand what it was saying, and yes, the flavor is definitely there, and unique as well. Thanks, guys! PS: the internet was a truly marvelous invention, and we appreciate it no end, too! Thanks to all those who've made it a terrific place to spend time, and the back o' me hand to those who gum it up! Cheers especially who tell where they found information. The LDR list is a terrific, live, active place; special thanks to those who make it so. Ruth
