    3. Freda, I have an Archibald Smith, but not yours. My Archibald Smith, d. 1729, leaving a Will dated 7 Nov 1729., Sussex Co DE. He apparently lived in Lewes. It says he was a merchant. He named his sister Marey (Mary) wife of Theophilus Simonton, and their 6 children; named his cousin Anne Simonton; named his cousin James Smith who at the time of the writing of the Will, lived with him--gave James his houses, lots and lands within the town of Lewes, and interest in a parcel of land in MD for the iron works; named his cousin Jennet Smith-sister of just named James; named his cousins James Smith and Adam Smith of the Gleve in the Parish of Orney, Barony of Straban, Kingdom of Ireland, 600 acres lying near Green Branch whereon Samuel Samples dwells;; named this cousin James Smith of Ireland to receive his signet ring; named Jane Thomson, dau of the Rev John Thomson; named cousins Anne Magdalen and Mary, daughters of his brother Robert Smith in Ireland; named his sister Rachel Curry in Ireland; named his wife Isabella; named tract of land in Summerset County, MD, called Begrove (?should be Belgrove). being left to me by my UNCLE Robert Perrie; also tract of land called Timber Hill, being in this county (?Sussex); gave to his sister Marey (Mary) present wife of Theophilus Simonton, the tract of land now belonging to me that was formerly James Barrs; witnesses to the Will: John Shankland; William Molleston and Phil Russel. I know Archibald was a popular first name, but do any of the people listed above connect to your Archibald Smith? How was Uncle Robert Perrie related to Archibald Smith? Does anyone know when and where Archibald Smith came to the colonies, who were his parents, does he descend from Smith previously in the colonies? What was his wife, Isabella's maiden name? Can anyone direct me as to how to find the location of these tracts of lands mentioned in Archibald Smith's Will- Begrrove or Belgrove; Timber Hill; the Iron Works in MD; the land previously owned by James Barrs. I descend from Theophilus and Marey Smith Simonton. Thanks.... Archibald Smith is my ancestor. He is the father of my Judith Smith Sharp. I picked him up in GA where he signed a will. Do you connect to him? His wife was Mary but can't find a maiden name.
