Hi, While stumbling around on the internet looking for Sussex County Delaware history I came across this site which is an intriguing insite into who was who and where in 1913: http://sussexcounty.net/docs/about/history/1913farm.pdf Walt West
Hello Walt, I have this book also and it is very informative. I purchased it several years ago from the Sussex Printing Co., in Georgetown, DE.(I believe). It is very good and shows the different hundreds listed in Sussex Co and information on residents and their families. Thanks for letting everyone know about this book Regards, Michelle (originally from Bridgeville, DE). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Walt and Rene" <westresort@roadrunner.com> To: <lower-delmarva-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2009 5:44 PM Subject: [LDR] 1913 farm journal for Sussex County > Hi, > > While stumbling around on the internet looking for Sussex County > Delaware history I came across this site which is an intriguing insite > into who was who and where in 1913: > http://sussexcounty.net/docs/about/history/1913farm.pdf > > Walt West > *************************************** > QUESTIONS about POSTING GUIDELINES, SUBSCRIBING or UNSUBSCRIBING? > Visit The Lower DelMarVa Roots Mailing List FAQ: > http://www.tyaskin.com/handley/ldrfaq.htm > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > LOWER-DELMARVA-ROOTS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' > without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Walt... I am so glad that you notified us of the 1913 farm journal for Sussex County. I had forgotten how much information this book contains. Some may have overlooked the directory thinking it just pertained to farmers or those who lived in the country. No so! I will be glad to look up and surnames for our members and hopefully they will know which hundred their ancestors lived. If not, I will scan through the pages and let you know what is listed. Actually this Farm Directory shows almost as much info as the census. That is, name of wife, number of children, how much land the man had, either owned or tenant. Not all of our ancestors were listed and I really don't know why. I will be glad to look up names if you need me to.
