I don't know that my Owens line was in Maryland. My query was just a feeler to see if anyone had a connection. There were several lines from the DELMARVA area that moved to northeastern NC so I figured John Owens might have also. My ancestor, John Owens, was in Tyrrell Co., NC by 1729. I have estimated his birth between 1704 - 07. He wrote his will in 1748 but probably did not die until early 1750. All of his children were under age at the time he wrote his will. None of my direct line left that area. My grandfather was born in Tyrrell Co. and moved to Currituck Co. as a young man where my father was born. I would be more than happy to exchange data and see if there is any connection. Feel free to contact me directly.
