    3. It is crucial that you realize that the spelling of the last name means essentially NOTHING. DeHority is a relatively unique spelling that in today's world would make your searches a piece of cake, because the database would be relatively small, but that's not the way it was in 1800's. I would steer you in the direction of the Orphan's courts, and then every spelling of the last name that you could find in any record. Because, that's your best shot. If it remotely could "sound" like Dehority, it has been written as such. Blox Daugherty ps: I have found ancestors under seven different spellings to date, sometimes the SAME PERSON will appear in four records with four different spellings. Nobody could "spell" Daugherty" in 1800's, and in fact, very few folks off the street can "spell" it today. As I am still (after 10 years) in search of the ancestor of my James Madison DeHority (1819-1891)?in Delaware, I thought I would post the address to my blog to the list: [2]www.AncestorTracking.blogspot.com Thanks to all who take the time to look!
