    3. Hi Clare, Many times I have mentioned names and gotten no responses, but I think I know why... If I have not found the information, probably no one else has found it either. Sometimes, someone replies that they are working on the same line and are up to the same brick wall so I keep their email address with a note to tell them if I have any luck. Please don't think it's personal... We all probably never post a question before researching first: that's why it's called a "brick wall"... AND I have found that there are not many postings for lower Dorchester County where my mother's lines are from. They frequently use other sites as their more common interactions with their related researchers... So, it may be the same with yours.. check around and see if there are other blogs that concentrate on your primary concern area. Hang in there! Jimmy

    3. Hi Clare & all, I recall one particular issue I posted a query about several times on more than one list over the years. Sometimes it led to a brief discussion, sometimes not. Then, all of a sudden, TWO different people came through with what I was seeking. Sometimes the results come from a new subscriber or sometimes a change in wording suddenly "rings a bell" with someone and out comes the information. And it's good to keep in mind, in any kind of research, scientific, genealogical, or whatever, negative results can be as important as any. 3. Jimmy, Thanks for the pep talk. I really needed it. I started doing genealogy before computers when you had to buy books or go to the library. I don't want to just copy. I'm looking for some direction. My brick wall is very, very think but I'm going to hand in there. Thanks again, Clare ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Blackwell" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 27, 2010 2:41 PM Subject: [LDR] I truly need help > Hi Clare, > Many times I have mentioned names and gotten no responses, but I think I > know why...
