    3. Hi Clare, The folks on LDR list are always helpful. If you have not had a response in a decade, I'm thinking no one on this list knows your answer. If your subject line had a surname such as Russell or Lewis, I, for one, probably never even opened it. I presume most folks do as I, in that since time does not permit the reading of everything in the mailbox, only the messages with an interesting subject line are read. My mailbox is currently showing 1414 unread messages, going back years. I don't know if there is a list for Elizabeth City County, VA, but it might be more practical to post on such a list since your ancestor died there. Or if you haven't joined the GHOTES list, which deals almost exclusively with Accomack and Northampton Counties, VA, that might be a more productive route. It seems to me that recently a GHOTE posted the morphology of some Virginia counties and that Elizabeth City was one that is now another county. I'm sure someone will correct me if I have remembered incorrectly. LDR covers lower Delmarva, as suggested in its title, but in actuality most of the genealogy seems to be centered in old Somerset County (Worcester, Wicomico & Somerset) with Dorchester, Sussex (DE) and ESVA offshoots. It just seems that way and I'm sure not by deliberate design. At least that's my observation. Best wishes, Becky ________________________________ From: Clare Pebworth <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, August 26, 2010 5:40:26 PM Subject: [LDR] I truly need help Over the past 10 years, I have posted many times asking for help in finding a specific person but have had no responses, so I am trying again. Robert Russell b. about 1756, Accomack, VA; d. 1832 Elizabeth City Co., Va.; m. Margaret "Peggy" Lewis, dau. of James Lewis and (Peggy Bonewell). After Robert Russell's wife Peggy died, Robert married someone by the name of Tabitha which is proven by his Will and several Land Deeds. Robert and Tabitha are our direct ancestors. I have no problem with Robert Russell's ancestors BUT I am looking for Tabitha's maiden name. Please. If anyone knows anything about this Tabitha, would you please help me. If you supply the name, I will do the research work and I don't copy from Ancestry.com. I believe that only names, dates and places are the skeleton of a person. I want to give them a life and make them live. Thank you. Clare *************************************** QUESTIONS about POSTING GUIDELINES, SUBSCRIBING or UNSUBSCRIBING? 3. Per Becky's comments about the history of Elizabeth City County, Virginia I suggest that you take a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_City_County,_Virginia This would be a good starting point to ECC VA. Roy
