Dear Listers, This is a transcription of the Parsons Family Bible that is currently in my possession but will eventually be placed with the Nabb Center. It covers seven pages of handwritten family information. I have transcribed it exactly as it it is written in the text - spelling and punctuation are as written. It is a bit lengthy but I wanted to keep it together and in sequence. Some background information: William A. Parsons is the son of Elijah Parsons and Sally Mitcalf. William A's wife was Elizabeth Wales Hearn of Delmar, Delaware/Maryland (the Hearn family farm is close to the state border). The family of William A. Parsons lived in the area of Laurel and Delmar, Delaware during the mid-1800's per U.S. Census records. Parsons Family Bible Print date: 1831 William A. To all subscribers, Finding and recording the entries that were entered into a family bible is fortunate and donating it to Nabb Center is gracious so that many others of future generations may read these entries. These are important documents of history. I have been hoping that I or someone else would find a Dill family bible that has the birth dates, marriage details, list of children with birth dates and death dates for each of the Dill families who lived in Maryland from 1659 to 1800 as well as the Dill families who lived in Murderkill Hundred (Kent County) Delaware from 1702 through 1800. There is little hope that such a record can be found since my ancestors did not know how to read or write during these times. But perhaps a good itinerate preacher or benevolent neighbor wrote this information down for them. I would appreciate hearing about or receiving any information pertaining to the Dill families of Maryland and Delaware for the time period between 1659 and 1800. I have gone through the MSA documents and Delaware Archives but so far I have not found the right documents to piece together the marriage dates and maiden names of the wives, which children belong to which Dill family and when each was born and died. Thank you, Teresa, for posting this valuable information.  <Some background information: William A. Parsons is the son of Elijah Parsons and Sally Mitcalf.> Ruth T. Dryden, in her Parsons Family, at page 13, shows William A. Parsons as the son of Caleb Tingle Parsons and Elizabeth Simmons, with a birth date of 20 October 1812.  Unfortunately, Ruth also shows William A.'s brother, Ephraim, with the same birth date. Under Elijah Parsons and Sally Metcalf, Ruth shows a son Theodore born 8 July 1812 and a daughter, Elizabeth, born 20 Feb 1816. According to your Bible entry, William A. Parsons was born 11 Nov 1814. My interest, aside from just generally, is that Elijah Parsons is the son of my ancestors, George, Sr. and Temperance Sherman Parsons.  I'd like to have William A. in the correct family.  Ruth does not provide any evidence.  Do you have evidence?
