Joni, I do not have a George Parsons married to a Mary Smith however the lineage I did for my late employer was very limited in scope. The Parsons listed from the probate abstract were the children of George Parsons, Jr. Sorry I cannot be of more help. Teresa A. Derrickson nee Chandler Hi, I was just looking through the e-mail below and wonder if these Parsons are escendents of John Parsons and Mary Smith? I have their children as Peter, elly, Mary, John, George, Sarah, Zephaniah, and Leah - all born between 730 and 1748. I was happy to share the Parsons Family ible records. As far as George Parsons, Jr. being the father of Elijah, I found that hrough an abstract of Probate Records of Worcester County, Maryland, found n www.ocmuseum.org . The abstract states that the Will date was October 18, 1782 and was probated anuary 13, 1809. Listed as sons were: Eldest son Jordan, George executor), Elijah. Daughters Nelly, Abigail, Leah. Then sons Jehu and ery. Grandchildren Obediah Dishroon and Tempy Dishroon. There are land arcels left to the sons. I did not have a chance to examine the land records nor the original Will. I freely admit that could well be an error on my part, but this was the only onnection I could find between Elijah and George. When I was working on he Parsons Family, I was pressed for time and I'm sure that I made some rrors in my work. However, my late boss was content and in the text I repared I added a disclaimer stating that even with due diligence errors ay have occurred. I would suggest looking at the original Will (if possible) and checking out he land records on the properties listed in the Will. Hope this helps, Teresa A. Derrickon ee Chandler Thank you, Teresa, for posting this valuable information.? Some background information: William A. Parsons is the son of Elijah arsons nd Sally Mitcalf.> Ruth T. Dryden, in her Parsons Family, at page 3, shows William A. Parsons as he son of Caleb Tingle Parsons and Elizabeth immons, with a birth date of 20 ctober 1812.? Unfortunately, Ruth also hows William A.'s brother, Ephraim, ith the same birth date. nder Elijah Parsons and Sally Metcalf, Ruth shows a son Theodore born 8 uly 12 and a daughter, Elizabeth, born 20 Feb 1816. ccording to your Bible entry, William A. Parsons was born 11 Nov 1814. y interest, aside from just generally, is that Elijah Parsons is the son of y ncestors, George, Sr. and Temperance Sherman Parsons.? I'd like to have illiam A. in the correct family.? Ruth does not provide any evidence.? My 4th Great randmother was Eleanor who served as the executor of her husband James FOOKES n June 1772. It is thought -- not proven -- that she subsequently married amuel WILLIAMS and is (thus?) the "Elender, wife of Samuel Williams" named as daughter in the 1783 will of Levin Carey. The Levin Carey will also names a randdaughter, Nancy Fookes, perhaps increasing the likelihood that Eleanor ookes/Elender Williams is one and the same person and, thus, originally Eleanor arey. Hmmmm. It you count the assumptions, this isn't much.........but I'd certainly ppreciate hearing from anyone who can help clarify this. She died in 1800 in the same place. She married Elijah ruitt in 1760. Unfortunately, that's all I know. I don't know when Elijah ied; she could have been married if he died early. She had Joseph and lizabeth by 1763. The next child was 10 years later - could be a new usband? Don't know yet. But maybe this could help someone.
