    3. Did you get a chance to look at the inventories, accounts and balances associated with the probate at the Huntington Collection? They might furnish additional clues that can explain the relationships. I only had time to look up one account for John Smith in 1741 (Lib 18, f. 242), executor was John Smith and mentions there was another son Thomas, deceased, and legacies left to William Smith, Sarah Hickman alias Smith, Diligence Richards alias Smith, Bridgit Sasield (?) alias Smith, Comfort Smith, Charles Smith and the Accountant (John Smith).
