On reflection, it was not clear to me to which will James of Whitttington was referring when he mentions land my father devised to me. I reread the deed and Whittington Sr.'s will and now it seems more likely it is James of Whittington Sr. who is deeding the land. The 1821 deed refers to "down the public road from Popular town to the Trap and where the Littleneck Road crosses so it is more likely that the James who deeds this land to Rachel is James son of Whittington the elder d. 1790...Thoughts?
