    3. Fellow Listers --- I came across a very interesting resource today when doing my aperiodic run through of Cyndi's List. The site is sponsored by the Maryland Historical Society, and can be found at http://mdhs.mdsa.net/mhm/index.cfm What you will find on the site is the ability to access, for free, their "Maryland Historical Magazine" between the years 1906 and 2005. And here's the really good part: it was searchable! I found several items of interest in a couple searches, including a source document called "Commission Book 82", in which I found a fascinating listing of an ancestor, John Newbold of Somerset County, registering his 15 ton sloop "Catherine and Ann", "built in Accomac Virginia", with John Newbold noted as owner and master, on May 11, 1744 [this corroborated info obtained elsewhere, but added the ship's size and origin. Very cool. BTW --- are these Commission Books transcribed elsewhere?] Don't know how long this resource has been available. But I would suggest many on this List will find it very useful. Cheers, Cree Newbold Franklin TN

    2. For those with slow computers, the 4th volume of each year contains an index for the entire year. I don't know how complete this index is, but you may be able to narrow your search by first using the index. You can then back track to the appropriate pages (within that year) to see the entry. Hope this helps, Gale -----Original Message----- From: Cree & Susan Newbold <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, Jun 24, 2010 9:50 pm Subject: [LDR] A new resource [at least to me] Fellow Listers --- I came across a very interesting resource today when doing my aperiodic run through of Cyndi's List.
