Jackie, In Baker's Draft IV Smiths, Lanes, Truitts of Worcester County, Maryland, he has some statements about Archibald Smith. I don't know if they will help you, but here they are: 1729: Archibald Smith, Merchant Lewes - Isabella probated December 4, 1729. Mentioned Relatives in Ireland, Executor James Smith, Cousin, Sussex County 1736: Arch Smith born to George Smith at St. Stephens, Wicomico. (Sarah & Mary were his sisters) 1739: Archibald Smith born to William & Elizabeth (Children of Wm & Eliz: Arch, Elijah, Matilda, Thomas) 1748: Captain Henry Smith 3700A in eight parcels, Archibald Smith 150A in two parcels, 100A "Painter Den", George Smith 200A, and Thomas Smith 175A. Archibald Smith (1729) (179) - Mary--Ester Arch was living in Hancock City, Georgia, then LawrenceCounty S.C. *John Smith - In the 1733 tax records of Baltimore 100, a John Smith was registered. We think this was the John Smith married to Sarah Morris, daugthter of William and Sarah Morris. *Arch Smith, Jr. *Joshua Smith *James Smith - Nelly James Smith sold land to the Cox family *John Smith 1793: Archibald Smith 1793: Archibald Smith Arch Smith On June 8, 1824, Henry Smith and Fanny Lane applied for a Worcester County marriage license. In 1825, when Henry was only 19, he was selected as a Trustee of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was a lawyer, a landowner, and a school teacher. I assume this to be an indication of his father's influence at the time. In 1826, John Smith died and mentioned a large family. They were Henry, Archibald, John, Thomas, Moranda, Moses, Ann, Lotty, and Joshua Smith. Fanny Henry Smith (1838-1925) was born to Henry and Fanny Lane in 1838. Other children were James T. Smith (1835), Henry M. Smith (1841), Anna Scott (1832), Sarah A. (Nock), 1827), Hetty A. Smith (1849). A Robert Pierce (of Lewistown in Sussex) was in possession of land owned by Edward Smith, and we must assume that he was a brother to the wife of Edward Smith or a stepson of Edward Smith. Robert willed lot number 12 in Snow Hill to Benjamin Schoolfield in 1717. In 1724, Robert willed his Worcester property to Archibald Smith of Loewistown in Sussex; Archibald willed this property to James Smith in 1729. Not too many Archibald Smiths there. One must be talking about yours!
