Has anyone researched the genealogy of Samuel H. Jones of Church Creek, Dorchester Co., Maryland or the history of his store in Church Creek. I know Sam and his wife Bessie never had children of their own, but can someone tell me who his parents, grand and great grandparents were! I lived just a few houses from that old dilapidated store and I have memories of rummaging through all that stuff. Also I am looking for pictures of Rue Vickers store that was just across the street from Sam Jones store, both of which have been removed many years ago. I was trying to give a little history to my grandchildren of the area where their Granny and their Father grew up but it seems no one has pictures of most of the places that I vaguely remember as a child of Church Creek

I had a similar situation happen in 1870. My relative lived on the township line. One enumerator picked him up correctly and he was picked up by the other because he incorrectly picked up both sides of the road. There are all kinds of possibilities when you're dealing with humans. Jay Thompson just an old genealogy nut too tough to crack. ________________________________ From: Roy Pollitt <rcp729@gmail.com> To: lower-delmarva-roots@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, March 5, 2013 11:33:32 AM Subject: Re: [LDR] Perry R. the Sarah Humphris born 9 June 1676 in Wicomico, Somerset, MD, was the daughter of Thomas Humphry, 1650 - 1734, and Mary King, 1660 -1715. Sarah first married William Clarkson, 1679 - 1706, by whom she had three sons, Thomas, William and Richard, and then after William Clarkson died, married Capt. James Brown, 1686 - 1770. She had several more children with Capt. James: James, Curtis, Hannah, Clement, Thomas and Mary Brown. Perhaps the Sarah Humphris who married a Jackson was a daughter of one of her brothers.
