    3. Kathleen, Thanks so very much for the info. Unfortunately the Robert Russell who married Comfort is not our Robert Russell. Our Robert Russell was the son of George Russell and Sarah (Bonwell) and the grandson of Solomon Russell and Mary (???). Our Robert Russell married Margaret "Peggy" Lewis ca 1776-80 in Accomack, VA. She was the dau. of James Lewis and Peggy (Bonwell/Bonnewell). Their children were Betsy (m. John Bull); John W. (m. Polly Justice); Edward M.; Isaiah; Solomon (m., Eleanor Ann Patterson); Samuel; Nancy Robert's 2nd wife was Tabitha (???). The had Sarah; Robert T. and William Parker Russell. Our ancestor is William Parker Russell b. 1833, D. 1906. He married Esther A. Russell, dau. of Thomas Russell of England and Adelia A. (Ball). Adelia's father was John Ball who d. in Worcester Co., MD Dec. 1811. He married John Campbell's widow in Oct. 1811 but I have never found Adelia's mother. I have documents to prove everything that I have. If you come up with anything regarding our Robert, George, and/or Solomon Russell, I would appreciate the directions. I have been wanting to go there for years, but I haven't yet been able to work around their very brief hours (Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ONLY). Here is the link to their site: http://www.barrattschapel.org/ If you happen to live in NJ, Drew University in Madison has a Methodist Library. I've been to the cemetery at Mt. Olivet Church, which is outside of Snow Hill, near the Coulbourne District (both and west of Snow Hill). My PopPop's infant sister is buried in that cemetery so I cruised down last fall for a look. I only know that she is buried there because it was recorded on her death certificate. It is a lovely small church, located on Mt Olive Church Road, just off of Route 12. There are several stones that are small with no inscriptions that I could discern. There are several other stones, well marked and readable, with varying dates from the 1900's and, if memory serves me right, the late 1800's. I contacted the pastor and spoke with his wife. There are some cemetery records but they have apparently walked away or been misfiled or mislaid. So basically what you see in the cemetery is what you get. I don't know if anyone has ever walked the cemetery and transcribed the stones that are legible. I believe there were some Shockley's buried there but who and when, I do not recall. Mary Nichols Gordy married John Watson Lecates on 2/5/1875 in Wicomico Co, MD. Mary had Isaac M Lecates in 1878 in MD. She is not shown in the 1880 Census and therefore died between 1878 and 1880. 3. Thanks Jim! That is Kelly Wheaton, she is a great Go-To person for DNA and she is the informal liason for AncestryDNA. She has a monthly updated thread at 23andMe for folks who are testing at AncestryDNA.. They are very cool with anyone cross posting.. FTDNA is less friendly about it. As a member of ISOGG as is Kelly, I think it is important to share what we know about tests with everyone. She is also a Guild One-Name member.
