    1. Re: [LDR] Parsons Family
    2. Dear Becky: You are most certainly welcome. I was happy to share the Parsons Family Bible records. As far as George Parsons, Jr. being the father of Elijah, I found that through an abstract of Probate Records of Worcester County, Maryland, found on www.ocmuseum.org . The abstract states that the Will date was October 18, 1782 and was probated January 13, 1809. Listed as sons were: Eldest son Jordan, George (executor), Elijah. Daughters Nelly, Abigail, Leah. Then sons Jehu and Hery. Grandchildren Obediah Dishroon and Tempy Dishroon. There are land parcels left to the sons. I did not have a chance to examine the land records nor the original Will. I freely admit that could well be an error on my part, but this was the only connection I could find between Elijah and George. When I was working on the Parsons Family, I was pressed for time and I'm sure that I made some errors in my work. However, my late boss was content and in the text I prepared I added a disclaimer stating that even with due diligence errors may have occurred. I would suggest looking at the original Will (if possible) and checking out the land records on the properties listed in the Will. Hope this helps, Teresa A. Derrickon nee Chandler Thank you, Teresa, for posting this valuable information.? <Some background information: William A. Parsons is the son of Elijah Parsons nd Sally Mitcalf.> Ruth T. Dryden, in her Parsons Family, at page 13, shows William A. Parsons as he son of Caleb Tingle Parsons and Elizabeth Simmons, with a birth date of 20 ctober 1812.? Unfortunately, Ruth also shows William A.'s brother, Ephraim, ith the same birth date. Under Elijah Parsons and Sally Metcalf, Ruth shows a son Theodore born 8 July 812 and a daughter, Elizabeth, born 20 Feb 1816. According to your Bible entry, William A. Parsons was born 11 Nov 1814. My interest, aside from just generally, is that Elijah Parsons is the son of my ncestors, George, Sr. and Temperance Sherman Parsons.? I'd like to have William A. in the correct family.? Ruth does not provide any evidence.? Do you have vidence? 2. Thanks for calling my attention to a discrepancy in my message (i.e., a typo). It should read: Seeking information about ZACHARIAH CARY/CAREY, one of 7 or 8 children of Ebenezer Cary (1734-1793) and Hannah Collings (sic). Ebenezer appears to have been a grandson of John Cary, the latter having come from MD to Sussex Co., DE, on or before 1695. Records reflect that John was one of the sons of Thomas Cary, the Immigrant, who first appeared in MD records about 1666. 2. George Dill
    3. To all subscribers, Finding and recording the entries that were entered into a family bible is fortunate and donating it to Nabb Center is gracious so that many others of future generations may read these entries. These are important documents of history. I have been hoping that I or someone else would find a Dill family bible that has the birth dates, marriage details, list of children with birth dates and death dates for each of the Dill families who lived in Maryland from 1659 to 1800 as well as the Dill families who lived in Murderkill Hundred (Kent County) Delaware from 1702 through 1800. There is little hope that such a record can be found since my ancestors did not know how to read or write during these times. But perhaps a good itinerate preacher or benevolent neighbor wrote this information down for them. I would appreciate hearing about or receiving any information pertaining to the Dill families of Maryland and Delaware for the time period between 1659 and 1800. I have gone through the MSA documents and Delaware Archives but so far I have not found the right documents to piece together the marriage dates and maiden names of the wives, which children belong to which Dill family and when each was born and died. Thank you. With love in Christ, George D. 1. Re: [LDR] Laura E. Bramble, Bradford Wallace
    2. Sylvia Greenhawk
    3. Thank you for that information.. I think she may have been buried at Sandy Island Cemetery in the Bramble family section, however there is not a tombstone there for her. Bounds Church is just a short distance from this cemetery.. Also because she was married twice, and the Bramble, Bradfords and Wallace families all lived close to or in the Robbins area at that period of time, it is also a possibility she may have been buried in someone's back yard as it seemed to have been a common practice at that time to bury one's loved one at home. It took me many years to find her obit. because no one in the family never mentioned her, and I thought my Grandfather was an only child. I discovered her existence when I started doing census searches however the census records listed her as Elizabeth, Lena and Emma, and my Mother only knew her as Aunt Lizzy. No one in the Bradford family that I spoke with had ever heard of her and she was never mentioned in the Wallace family obits, or did any of the Wallace family that I spoke with ever hear of her I was talking to Jean Woolston and she had an abstract for Laura Wallace, whom I had never found information for, but I misplaced the information she gave me in other research files until one day about six years later I was cleaning out some old files and found that name again. I went to the Cambridge Library and found her obit on microfilm and --Waa Laa -- there was Mom's Aunt Lizzy - Laura Elizabeth Wallace ! Now I am stuck on Zachariah Bramble married 1855 to Bridget Edgar, I 'm pretty sure "Zach's" father was Adam Bramble married 1817 to Celia Pearson and this is where I have been stuck since the beginning of my research. It appears Adam and Celia were married 1817 in Dorchester County, MD, Zachariah was born abt.1825, It seems that maybe Celia died 1845 - 1850 MD, Indiana. or Va., I am unsure -- BUT it is a strong possibility she may have died in Dor. Co. MD. and Adam then moved to Virginia leaving behind in MD several children --POSSIBILITY -- 1. Jeremiah b.abt 1819, 2. Adam b.abt 1820 married abt 1870 to Dorothy Wallace, 3. Soloman F. b.abt 1824 married 1863 to Rebecca Mears, 4. Zachariah b. abt 1825 married 1855 to Bridget Edgar,( Zach's name may have been Samuel Zachariah Bramble ***NOTE*** I mentioned Indiana earlier because I found 1850 Rush Indiana census with Zachens Bramble, b. abt 1827 Maryland., I also found US General Land Office Record stating Zachariah Bramble purchased and pain in full for 40 acres of land originally belonging to the Miami Indians that was acquired by treaty from them by the government, 1850 Zachens and wife Margaret had one infant son George W. born August of that year! On the 1860 census I could not find Zachariah in Indiana however -- 1860 Zachariah Bramble is in Dorchester Co.,MD married 16 Aug. 1855 to Bridget Edgar, and a 4 year old son William. Was William actually George W., that he brought back to MD with him, Did Margaret die or maybe --is she Bridget ????? I mention all this because I keep hoping that someone will read it and make a connection to some of this info and be able to help me figure out what part of the Bramble family Adam, Adam and Zachariah belong to. I have an educated guess that might be right, but I would really like to have a few sources that would prove it. Thanks again, Sylvia ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 05, 2010 11:02 AM Subject: Re: [LDR] Laura E. 2. I am not living a charmed life but yet maybe I am! Keddie has abstracted the will of Charles Banister as follows: Folio 166 CHARLES BANNISTER 04/01/1782 07/16/1782 (Somerset County) Bequeaths to: 1. Leah Bannister --wife -all estate both real and personal during her natural life. 2. Sally Bannister Bowen --sister (wife of Capt. William Bowen of Worcester County) -to have estate both real and personal after widow's decease. -if she has a son then all land goes to him 3. Sally Bowen --niece (daughter of Sally and Capt. William) Milly Bowen --niece (daughter of Sally and Capt. William) -all estate to be divided between them is their mother does not have a son Witnesses: James Elzey Randall Revell Sally Hayman For all sorts of reasons I was having trouble with the above abstract regarding the alleged person Sally Bannister Bowen. In fact I knew from other deeds and wills that Ann, sister of Charles Banister not Sally had married Capt. William Bowen. Yet the will continued to trouble me and no so called original was online for easy viewing since it was probated after 1776/7. The problem was resolved in a very lucky way when I found the following deed (which fortunately had not been de-linked by Md. Land records). The will itself is clearly described in the deed and says what I assumed it "should" say. 1814 Deed between John B. More and Sarah his wife, Mary Bowen, Nancy Bowen, Marton Bowen and John Bowen all of Baltimore county (which said Sarah, Mary, Nancy, Marten and John) are the children of Wm. Bowen and Nancy his wife ... Whereas Charles Banister of Somerset County by his last will and testament 1782 bequeathed as follows: I give my wife Leah all my estate real and personet I give and bequeath unto my well beloved sister Nancy Banister alias Bowen wife to Capt Wm. Bowen of Wo Cty all my whole estate real and person to her and her heirs forever; my land to her son if she has one...or to SALLY and POLLY Bowen (aka Milly) daughters of Capt Bowen...and whereas Nancy Banister alias Bowen afterward had by the said Wm. Bowen the following namely Mitchell, Nancy, Martin William and John ( and the said Mitchell and William have since died intestate and whereas doubt as to which of the surviving children of the said Nancy Banister Bowen the property will descend to at her decease and as it is the material wish and desire of Sarah Moore, Mary, Nancy, Martin and JOhn Bowen that the same should be respectively (after the death of their mother) be divided in equal portions....so this intenture witnesses JP 2 1814-15 Somerset County folio 0349. It should be noted that this Sally Bannister in fact married Thomas Evans (per another deed relating to similar land)

    2. I think we know what will happen. Elizabeth In a message dated 8/1/2010 12:11:49 A.M. Sometime over the past couple of years they've done some kind of reorganizing of their mdlandrec indexing scheme, which used to be aware that multiple deed volumes in a county might share an identifier like "L" here. It would then give you your options. That no longer happens. Bpppffft. All the volumes have been scanned, and were all formerly accessible. But you have been here victmized by evil mdlandrec indexing mice. This would not be the only Somerset volume so affected. There's nothing for it but to send them a note and inform them that their system has deteriorated. And then wait to see what happens. Unfortunately the original for the latter, the one you want, seems to have been lost. It is not listed in the MSA holdings. Fortunately there seems to be a microfilm copy of it, identified as CR 31817 or MSA citation CM963-47 . Unfortunately for your needs, when they did the scanning of the Somerset land records volumes for MdLand Rec they must have done them from the original libers, not from the microfilms, so the Volume L that you are interested in wasn't scanned. Seems like the only way to get what you need is visit MSA and look at the microfilm, unless Nabb has copy of it.
