Hello List, Mainly for James but all comments welcomed at all times. The Marendaz name as spelt by David Emanuel MARENDAZ when he signed his own name on Margam Register at his marriage dated 9th.of Sept. 1798. Ann signed as Lovluck, in the prefence of D. ? Loveluck and Edward Loveluck. Married by Licence by the well known local vicar John Hunt. But the main point of my writing today is about their son John Loveluck Marendez b.1806. Margam. He turned up for me today on the Glam FHS. Pre 1837 marriage list as John Loveluck Maranday marrying Lydia Griffiths at St. Mary Swansea in 1826. Lucky for the name Loveluck. 1841. Glam FHS. CD Census . Butter St. Neath Town. With Evan Evans. 45. spirit merchant. John Marendaz 35 male servant. So here he was living away from his wife of 15 yrs married. We will see a little later John getting himself into a spot of trouble here in Neath. So to his wife Lydia, 1841. Census Penllergaer schoolhouse. Llangyfelach. [Swansea ] Lydia Marender 36. schoolmistress. Mary Ann Marender 12. Henry Marender 10. John Marender 8. Sefton Marender 6. George Marender 2. What is interesting about this in 1841 is that the above schoolhouse is next to Penllergaer House which is the family home of the gentry Llewellyn family who are related to the Talbot family of Margam Park. I am still working on the MI of Grave of Catherine wife of David Emanuel Marendaz, I am making slow progress there James. Best Regards Allen in freezing Aberavon
