I am a recently subscribed member. My interest in the Lovelock family is arising from the following outline. John Lovelock b1750 was married to Rachel b1751 in South Tidworth Hants. They had, as far as I know, one daughter Harriot Lovelock b1798. Harriot married Thomas Habberfield on the 3 Sep 1818 in the Parish Church of South Tidworth . Thomas and Harriot had three children William, John and my g.grandmother Maria b1822. Maria married my g.grandfather Henry Robert Taylor in Southampton in 1843 and they moved to Plumstead SE18 where they raised their family including my grandfather also called Henry Robert. John, Rachel and Harriot all died in 1823 in South Tidworth. I would appreciate any further information anybody could give on this branch of the Lovelock family. Keith Taylor, St. Albans.
Keith Nice to be able to welcome you aboard. Alas, I can throw no light on this branch, if that's not mixing metaphors too much, but I have a question and comment or two. If I remember rightly the Thomas/Harriot marriage is in the IGI. Have you, Keith, or anyone else independently verified the details? Did you find the marriage of John and Rachel in the South Tidworth register, as we do not have the information on the Web Site? Does the ST register contain details of any other children of John and Rachel? If not I am surprised that they had Harriot so late. Can we be sure that Harriot is not actually a grand-daughter?
