Greetings all Visited the Society of Australian Genealogists in Sydney yesterday and completed extracting marriage from Boyd's Marriage Index 1500-1837. I had previously only completed to 1750. Most of these marriages I already had included in the Lovelocks by Parish compiled files for the respective counties with the exception of the following: 1817 LOVELOCK Jn & Mary PAIN Compton HANTS 1826 LOVELOCK Mary & Wm CARTER Compton HANTS 1830 LOVELOCK Chas & Mary An COOK Compton HANTS 1763 LOVELOCK Abra & Mary YOUNG Cherington GLOS 1774 LOVELOCK Mary & Ric DAVIS Great Badminton GLOS 1761 LOVELAKE Jn & Christian KING Sparsholt BERKS I will email to James separately the complete Lovelock extractions for Boyd's 1500 - 1837 together with the updates of the counties of Gloucestershire, Hampshire and Berkshire. If any of you would like a copy (I cannot attach a document when posting to the list) please email me separately. Hope you're all going well with your own research. Best wishes Robert from a rather cloudy and cool winter's afternoon in Kurrajong, NSW, Australia.
The "Hobart Town Courier" 26 June 1854 p.2 col.6 (reporting English news) noted: On Saturday morning, April 1, a very destructive fire occurred at Smelmore Farm, in the occupation of Mr. Lovelock, at Chively, near Newbury, which consumed the entire homestead, five valuable horses, and other live stock. The loss of farm produce is very considerable. It is supposed to be the work of some incendiary. with best wishes Dianne Snowden Richmond Tasmania (Aus). >
