    3. Greetings Lovelock Listers from a Hot and Sunny London. I am pleased to advise you that the event venue has now been selected. The Planning Group met in Hungerford last Friday and following an inspection of the facilities at The Bear Hotel agreed that this would be the perfect venue for our Lovelock Family History Gathering next year. The Bear Hotel is run by the International Hotel Company Jarvis details of which cancan be found on their Website: www.ramadajarvis.co.uk <http://www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/> The Hotel was once owned by Henry VII and Henry VIII and during the coaching era was a popular stopping point for coaches travelling from London to Bath. There are 41 comfortable bedrooms, many of which overlook the River Dunn. James Loveluck is setting up a special Lovelocks Alive 2004 page on the Lovelock Website which will be available shortly. The cost per person will be £40 and includes: * Morning Presentations/Displays * Buffet Lunch * Half Day ( Afternoon ) Coach Excursion To Wiltshire Villages associated with early Lovelock families * Three Course Dinner ( with a Guest Speaker ) The Hotel are offering a discounted accommodation ( Bed & Breakfast ) rate for stays of two nights or more for people who wish to stay at the venue. The rate ( per person ) for a single night is £ 46.50 and for two or more nights is £35.00 per person. To take advantage of this discount bookings must be made through Janet and Jeremy Lovelock. If you wish to stay in other local accommodation please ensure that you have booked your place at the event first. To book your place at the Event please send a ( non-refundable ) deposit (Cheque/International Money Order to be made payable to J Lovelock ) in the sum of £15 with the balance of £25 payable by the 10th May 2004. Please note that payments for accommodation should be made in full. Please indicate if you have any special requirements e.g. dietary. Therefore an early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. For visitors staying at the Hotel ( or nearby ) on the Saturday night it may be possible ( subject to demand ) to arrange a half day cruise on the Kennet and Avon Canal on the Sunday morning ( with Buffet Lunch ) aboard the Narrow Boat 'Rose of Hungerford'.
