Daphne Seeing your mention of William Lovelock made me check out Fragment 10 on the Website where you will find a William Lovelock baptized at Tangley on 19 March 1792. The details of his siblings, parents and grandparents are: John Lovelock (b:Abt 1740) m. Ann Unknown, (b: Abt 1774, bur: 1 Nov1837, Chute, Wilts) Son: Uriah Lovelock bap: 5 Jun 1785 bur: 6 Jul 1785, Tangley Daur: Charlotte Lovelock bap: 15 Apr 1787, Tangley Daur: Ann Lovelock bap: 7 Mar 1790, Tangley Son: William Lovelock bap: 19 Mar 1792, Tangley Son: Charles Lovelock bap: 1 Mar 1795, Tangley bur: 13 Dec 1878, Longparish, Hants. Son : George Lovelock bap: 17 Sep 1797 Tangley d: June, 1875 Andover, Hants Son: John Lovelock bap: 2 Feb 1800, Tangley d: Jun 1867 Andover, Hants Are the two Williams actually the same person? I recall that the Tangley registers have suffered dreadfully over the years and parts are difficult to read. Has the year been read as 1791 on some occasions and 1792 on others? I certainly do not recall ever having seen any evidence of there being two Lovelock families at Tangley at that time – does anybody else have anything to suggest? One thing to take into account: with the baptism of Ann on 7 Mar 1790, and Charles on 1 Mar 1795 is it not more likely that William would be baptized in 1792 and not 1791?
