I think there is a small error in the listing of baptisms for Kingsclere St. Mary. The relevant entry says: 1715 Aug 28 ___(?) s. Robt Lovelock and Maria ('Mary' instead of 'Maria' in modern transcript) Looking carefully at the fiche PR4/3 I can see no evidence for the 's.' in the transcribed entry. The entry is 'blank where name should be' Robt et Maria Lovelock bapt 28 die (August 1715) the gender is indicated in entries before and after as 'fils' or 'filia' so there can be no doubt as to whether it should be son or dau. In this case I think the entry possibly refers to a dau. Mary for whom there is a burial on 25 Jul 1716. However the burial entry on fiche PR5/1 has no clue as to parents or age of Mary so I could be wrong. There is another Mary born to Robert & Mary in 1820. I would like to be wrong in thinking the 1715 baptism refers to a Mary as the Francis Lovelock (see Kingsclere fragment) I have as born possibly in 1820 would fit neatly into this family at this point. Up to now I have found no baptism for him. -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
