    3. I have been following up on the Kingsclere Lovelock twiglet I submitted recently and as a result have several queries. I had for some time in my Kingsclere database the marriage of a Mary Ann Lovelock to Henry Twitchin on 23 September 1861, at Shaw. This information had been given me by a Twitchin researcher but there is no sign of this marriage on the Lovelock website. Nor is there a baptism of a Mary Ann Lovelock in Shaw who could fit the bill but there was a James & Mary Lovelock recorded at Wash Common in 1851 Census who had 3 children recorded as born in Shaw, Clara about 1835, Elizabeth ca '38 and James ca '41. Could Mary Ann be another child? So far I haven't found any record of her or Henry Twitchin in the 1851 Census. James, 72 formerly a farmer, is said to be born in Speen and Mary 52 in Hungerford. This could be the James who married Mary Pike in Hungerford on 22 Jan 1827 and who was baptised 2 June 1778 to Thomas Lovelock and Ann (Crocker) who was possibly a son of Thomas & Elizabeth (Messenger) Based on info on the website, I have put together a nice little twig showing descendants of Thomas & Elizabeth. Those extracts of Thomas' & Noah's wills proved very helpful but I'd like to know if anyone else has researched this Speen/Shaw/Thatcham/Burghclere family in detail and can confirm my ideas. Going back to Kingsclere I had a Phoebe Lovelock who married John Benwell at St. Mary, Kingsclere on 22 July 1790. I can find no trace of a Phoebe being baptised in Kingsclere so could she be the Phebe bapt. on 9 Jul 1769 to Noah & Ann at St. Mary, Thatcham? Where does Noah fit into the 'Speen' family? Any info that can help me confirm this will be welcome. -- John Lewis
