Remember remember the 5th of November Gunpowder Treason and Plot. It was 398 years ago today that Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Palace of Westminster and research published today by the University of Wales calculates that if he succeeded large parts of Central London would have been flattened. Enough gunpowder was under the House of Lords to demolish it 25 times over. I am pleased to announce that James Loveluck and Robert Sterry have kindly offered to give a presentation in the morning on how the circle of Lovelock Family Historians has built up over the past 30 years to share research, make contact with relatives and develop the wonderful resources we now have access to on the Lovelock Web Site. There will also be a forum for exchanging ideas for progressing this research. The Event has been publicised in Wiltshire newspapers and a number of Lovelock families from Swindon, Leamington and Devizes have contacted us. Notices are also appearing in Family History Society Journals and hopefully will appear in national Magazines next month.
