John, An interesting lead indeed - it certainly makes good sense to track down some of the LovelUcks outside of Glamorgan, since the idea that our progenitor John L changed his name from LovelOck to LovelUck is no more than a hypothesis. Nevertheless, I think its interesting that quite a few records and MIs of the Glamorgan Lovelucks actually record the name as LovelOck, and for the Lyneham-Cardiff Lovelocks its clear that there was a change of name, it occurred quite late, and only concerned part of the family (Clifford Stanley Loveluck and desecndants). I'd very much like to have a copy of the image if its not too much trouble. I think I owe you a few now! James et al I've managed to decipher a bit more of Thomas Loveluck's will. The dubious offspring is probably Henry. Henry L's boss was Hon Frederick West - I think - the name used by the eldest son of Earl de la Warr (or the Pavilion at Bexhill - My grandmother DR Loveluck and her husband JEL (briefly) lived at 31 (now 61) De la Warr Rd!) 1945-55. The ? before the number 38 U Gros St is just "No."! I can't find the Great Hortwell, which could be Stockwell in Fingest, but I'll look at the old OS map. I received the fiche of the PR of Fingest, but there was no Loveluck/Lovelock at all! So TL must have been buried in a nearby parish prob in the direction of Marlow. Perhaps that's where his children were born. IGI seems U/S.
