Can any of you Australian Lovelock connections help, please? Weyms Talbot Lovelock married Hilda Olive Field in Addlestone, Surrey, England on 21st September 1818. We have a three generation photo of them, taken about September 1923. Soon afterwards, in the autumn of that year Weyms and Hilda emigrated to Australia. Hilda was born in 1892. At some point, while in Australia, Hilda died, but we have no idea where, when or why. The next we hear of Weyms is his second marriage in Brighton, Sussex, England in August 1928 to Annie Winifred Field. Weyms was my great uncle and none of his family knows anything about Hilda, except that his and "Old Auntie Win's" only daughter was named Hilda after her. Any information would be gratefully received. Mary Perry (nee Lovelock)
Greetings Mary I searched the online indexes for NSW and Victorian deaths in Australia between 1923 and 1928 but no sign of a Hilda or Olive Lovelock. Robyn Hand has also recently supplied a large number of Lovelock deaths in other states of Australia but no sign alas of a Hilda or Olive Lovelock. The other states of Australia unfortunately do not have on-line indexes but deaths are available on fiche for tohse years. The next time I'm down at the Australian Society of Genealogists, I'll check the fiche for other states. Best wishes Robert PS I assume you meant to type they married in 1918 not 1818. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Saturday, 19 February 2005 8:11 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Lovelock temporarily in Australia > > > Can any of you Australian Lovelock connections help, please? > > Weyms Talbot Lovelock married Hilda Olive Field in > Addlestone, Surrey, > England on 21st September 1818.
