I'm working on an article about Lovelock street names and would like various bits of help. a) Photographs of roads (avenues, closes, streets) with the Lovelock name - or simply of the street sign, preferably with a bit of scenic background. So far I have one from Munich, Dunedin (NZ) and northern Adelaide.. b) An idea of who they might be named after? All NZ names are probably refer to Jack Lovelock, the runner. But who, for instance, was the guy after whom the Australian Lovelock Creek was named? And why are there so many Lovelock roads in the Adelaide area? Most intriguing of all, after which colonialist was Calcutta's Lovelock Lane (in the university area) named? c) John Lovelock did some very enterprising work on Lovelock Croft in Surrey. He seemed to know exactly who to approach where to find out about the naming. Can some of you folks give me a few pointers?
