And why does Free BMD indicate that John Bernard Hagemeyer married either Ellen Hennessey or Julia Noah in March quarter of 1874, instead of Emma Lovelock? Indeed a perusal of the March 1874 marriage index shows that no Emma Lovelock was married then anywhere in the country. I found John aged 44 and Emma aged 49 (consistent with her being 69 at death) in 1881, but only Bernard aged 29 with wife Emma aged 38 in 1891 (and Emma born in Hoxton, not Bath). Henry C B Hagmeyer married Emma Louisa Bowden in the June quarter of 1890 in Wandsworth, so that explains the 1891 entry. Lynne must have found more information than this - perhaps others can do a better job than me of scanning what's available. I'm still puzzled.
