Nothing short of baffling, Derek Perhaps Charles worked overseas, and Cecil arrived here after the 1901 Census? I can't recall ever seeing any Census entry of a Lovelock who was an Architect. Have you tried searching the 1901 using Cecil's occupation as a clue, and using partial surname searches (as in lov*** for instance)? Sorry not to be of any real help.
