    3. Hi everyone Have been down at Society of Australian Genealogists again and finished checking available indexes for Lovelocks in Hampshire. Didn't have time to check the remaining Phillimore Marriages - sorry Helen. However, anything that was surname indexed relating to Hampshire I checked. Found a couple more Marriage Allegations (and corrected two from last time as I was rather rushed at the time and managed to make a couple of transcription errors!), one entry from the Hampshire Hearth Tax Assessment 1665, a few marriages in the Isle of Wight and, rather more significantly, a will index produced by the Hampshire Record Office as follows: 1575 Will/Inventory, Lovelock (Lovelake), Thomas, Hurstbourne Tarrant/Vernham Dean, 'Lovelake' in I (1574B46/1-2) 1578 Inventory, Lovelock (Lovelake), John, Hurstbourne Tarrant/Vernham Dean (1578AD4) 1582 Will/ Inventory, Lovelock, Thomasina, Hurstbourne Tarrant/Vernham Dean, widow (1582A29/1-2) 1731 Inventory/Admin, Lovelock, Robert, Combe, yeoman (1731AD079/1-2) 1740 Will, Lovelock(Lovelack), James, Kingsclere/North Oakley (1740BO74) 1831 Admon, Lovelock, Elizabeth, Wherwell, widow (1831AD48) 1840 Admon, Lovelock, William, Whitchurch Freefolk, yeoman (1840AD53) 1843 Will, Lovelock, Thomas, Tadley, labourer (1843AD74) 1844 Admon, Lovelock, John, South Tidwell, labourer (1844AD55) 1845 Will/Court Paper/Codicil, Lovelock, John, Barton Stacey, labourer (1845AD67/1-3) It would be nice to have the full text of these wills if anyone feels like chasing them up sometime. Have updated the Lovelocks_in_Hampshire page with new info and whisked off to James to add to the Lovelock site. Any members of Lovelock list wishing to have their own copy should contact me individually (remember we can't use attachments on the list) and I'll be happy to send it through. Have started on indexes for Oxfordshire. There are very extensive surname indexed modern transcriptions of parish registers available on fiche (done by the prolific Oxfordshire FHS) so hopefully will turn up a Lovelock or two. My own Lovelock line includes parishes in Oxfordshire so I thought I'd see if I could find any additions. Have also ordered the BTs and PRs for Easton Royal through my local Mormon FHC to see if we can clear up those annoying variations in event detail. BTs are already in and I have checked them. Alas there are a large number of gaps in the BT record so it won't actually fill in the known gaps in the PRs (as I had hoped). So the BTs don't actually help much to confirm the accuracy of the event detail. Will have to wait for PRs. Best wishes and hope you are all still keen and busy doing your own research. I look forward to sharing your results. Robert - -------------------------------------------- Lovelock Family History http://www.ri.silicomp.fr/~loveluck/genealogy/lovelock/
