Hi All Have just completed checking LDS film 1040620 which contains Parish Register for Reading - St Marys Burials 1813-1880. Just a few. Fancy having a name like Abednego! Must have been hell at school! 1815 May 5 Abednego Lovelock, Pigney Lane, age 4 years 1816 Jan 24 Thomas Lovelock, Pigney Lane, age 6 mths 1829 Mar 8 George Lovelock, Coley St, 8 mths 1844 Mar 17 Anne Dovey Lovelock, Coley Street, age 61 1845 May 25 Harriet Lovelock, Coley St, age 21 In case your're wondering about my search strategy, I'm checking parishes for Lovelocks in Berkshire around Reading and Wallingford as these are the last two areas where the Berkshire Lovelock line peters out. Both parishes are on the border of Oxfordshire so any of the Oxfordshire parishes nearby will eventually need to be checked as well. There aren't too many resources to look at in the early 1700s so possible search strategies are fairly limited. Any suggestions from others on this Lovelock list are always welcome. I'm not sure if the Berkshire Wills we have are complete. That's a good source for the period of course albeit limited to the few Lovelocks who had enough of an estate to leave a Will. Parish records might have something - but these are terribly slow to go through and none are indexed. Court Rolls? Perhaps. But again mostly limited to land transactions and disputes so only a few of the wealthier ones will appear. Some may be indexed. It actually gets quite interesting scratching around in this period without any census or GRO to reference - as I'm sure many of you will agree! Best wishes Robert
