Hi That was a very quick response! >premises = Fox and Hounds >occupier = Frederick Lovelock >address = Shirburn Street >city = Watlington, Oxfordshire >dates = 1851-1861 >Addinf = Listed in Commercial Directories for Oxfordshire 1851 & >1861. In 1871 the pub is being run by Frederick's cousin, Charles >Gibbs Lovelock. > Thanks for this enquiry, or perhaps we should say, contribution. Coincidentally, a fellow researcher, John Lovelock, has just sent me detail on this. All entries are from Oxfordshire Directories. I'm not sure whether the entries are from the commercial or residential listings. 1847: Watlington: Frederick Lovelock Innkeeper Fox and Hounds Shirburn Street 1850: Watlington: Commercial: Frederick Lovelock Fox and Hounds 1854: Watlington: Frederick Lovelock Fox and Hounds 1863: Watlington: No Frederick entry at all 1869: Watlington: Fredrick Lovelock Fox and Hounds 1876: Watlington: Charles Lovelock Fox and Hounds 1887: No Lovelock entries at all Unfortunately I don't have the original entries from the 1851, '61 or '71 censuses. Am forwarding this to John Lovelock who hopefully will be able to supply the detail requested. Am also forwarding to the Lovelock list and another cousin in Australia. Thanks for your assistance. Hopefully you may be able to add some further information for us further down the track.
