Cuzzins, It is with extreme sadness that I report the passing of Cuzzin Bob Stewart. Bob was a descendant of Green Lovelace, son of Benjamin and Nancy Lovelace and brother to my gggrandfather William Lovelace. Those of you on the list who didn't know him will remember his posting of Lovelace obituaries over the last several years. Having not heard from him in a long time, I wrote a couple emails over the past two months inquiring if he was OK. Today I received the following email from his wife Sue: "Greg, this is Sue Bob's wife, I hate to tell you but Bob died on the 25th of January. He was hospitalized on November 3rd with a massive brain bleed which caused a stroke. He was paralyzed on his left side. After 2 weeks we transferred him to a Rehab facility, which didn't work out. He developed pneumonia and was hospitalized again and was in there for over a week, he developed a blood clot in his left leg and had a mesh put in the groin to stop it from going to his lung. After that we found a better Rehab facility that we heard was the best place he could be. During that time he was finally getting to where he could strengthen his core, he could not sit up without falling over. The left leg was starting to come back also. The worst part was the left hand, arm and shoulder but we hoped in the months to come those would improve. I went to the rehab to have breakfast with him and he was not himself so I got the nurse and 911 was called. He was hospitalized for another massive brain bleed which was bigger and deeper into the brain. After weeks of confusion, he couldn't speak, everything he gained was lost. He continued to fight but just couldn't hold on anymore. He lost the fight at 6:59 p.m. on the 25th. We knew each other for 60 years, married 53 years and there wasn't a better man I have ever know that could compare to him. I don't know what I will do without him. His funeral service will be tomorrow and he will be buried in Holly Michigan at the military cemetery with full honors. A part of the Tree is now with God." Bob will be sorely missed. His contributions to Lovelace genealogy were many, and the list archives reflect that. He was committed to posting as many obituaries as he could for inclusion in the archives for future researchers. I just returned home to find this news. Bob was such a dedicated unselfish researcher, all ways willing to help. Perhaps now he knows the answers that the rest of us are still seeking.
