Published in Charlotte Observer on Nov. 22, 2014 Barbara Parker Ward "Bobbi" HICKORY - Barbara "Bobbi" Parker Ward, 64, of Hickory, passed away November 20, 2014, at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born November 28, 1949 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Pat Hester Jolly of Hickory and the late James Edward Parker. Ms. Ward was a college graduate and spent most of her career as the Director of Training at Carillon Assisted Living in Raleigh, NC. She spent the earlier part of her career as a beautician. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Jon Ward and wife Sherry of Maiden, NC; sister, Sherry Atwell and husband Hugh of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Beth Crane and husband Nick of Maiden, NC, Courtney Loveless of Claremont, NC, JonJon Ward of Gamewell, NC; great-granddaughter, Camdyn Crane of Maiden, NC; fur babies, Balkie and Bubbles; best friend, Sherrie Brittain Smith of Morganton, NC; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 2:45 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. at the church.
