I received an e-mail from Myfamily.com that says they are shutting down on Sept. 30th. The site will not allow access and they recommend that you export all your information to another site. I have been busy with school and may have missed any discussion about this? Jeff Lovelace

Jeff, Our admin for the site is Bonnie Eggert. Bonnie, what *is* the story on this? I know that Ancestry is discontinuing support for MyFamily and taking the site down. I personally have other copies of the stuff I posted, but what if others did not keep copies? Can they get their stuff off before the site shuts down? Sorry we have not discussed this sooner. Have been dealing with the death of my dad and other family issues. A cousin and I were able to harvest all files and photos from another myfamily site when the closure was first announced. We copied and created .pdf files within the myfamily categories and are going to make it available to the rest of the family trough DVDs. I was trying to get on the site today and could not. This happens whenever Ancestry makes another announcement about the closure. They have had to extend the closure once because members were not able to access their sites. The mismanagement of this is appalling. If anyone can get access to the Lovelxxx site and wants to start working on copying files, please go ahead.
