CookJuly 5, 1932 - May 12, 2015 NEWCASTLE Orpha "Jean" Canary Cook, 82, passed from this life May 12, 2015. She was born July 5, 1932 in Guthrie, OK to Harry and Winnie (Bostwick) Gambill. Jean loved to work crossword puzzles, reading, and going to music shows regularly. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Fred Canary and Eldon Cook; brothers, Jack Gambill and Irwin Gambill; and sisters, Lois Tooley, Nelda Loveless, and Ellen Holliday. Jean is survived by 4 step-children: David Canary, Rita Landsberger, Judy Holcomb, and Marlene Wilkins; sister, Melvina Kerfoot and husband Harold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Jean will be held Sunday from 1pm-8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will be held Monday, May 18, at 2:00pm at the Resthaven Chapel, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
