Picture appears to be an African American Susanna Singleton Lovelace COLUMBIA - A Homegoing Celebration for Susanna Singleton Lovelace will be held Friday, May 29, 2015, 12:00 p.m., at Temple Zion Baptist Church, 1174 Heyward Brockington Road, Columbia, with burial in the church cemetery. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. The visitation for Mrs. Lovelace will be held this evening at the funeral home, 6-8:00 p.m. Susanna was born August 8, 1927 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter and last surviving child of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Pickett Singleton. She passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was 87. She was educated in the Richland County public school system, and at the age of 18, moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she spent most of her adult life. She retired from the Washington National Airport after 30 years of dedicated service in the Food Services Department. Susanna was a member of Temple Zion Baptist Church in Columbia and later joined Beulah Baptist Church when she moved to Alexandria. She is survived by her nephew and primary caregiver for the past ten years, James Taylor, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, all of whom will miss her dearly.
