The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Burial will be private. Born in Rock Hill, S.C., Mr. Roof was a son of the late Harold Ernest Roof and the late Beatrice Elizabeth McManus Roof. He was a mechanic in various shops and enjoyed restoring classic cars. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving out of nine siblings are his sisters, Helen Lovelace and Brenda Ard, both of Rock Hill; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Garnett Hood.
