Susan had an interesting insight involving the Gaea theory, the theory that posits that the planet itself is a living sentient being. Given all the fracking that has been going on in Oklahoma for the past several years, are the heavy rains and the flooding in that area Gaea's way of diluting the chemicals being pumped into the ground during the fracking process? Went out to the cemetery yesterday during a lull in the rain and gave my granddaughters a brief history of all our Loveless family buried there. My grandfather was the caretaker of the family. Let's not forget the mountain ranges that are being stripped mined for Borax here in California for the Chinese Industrial growing demand for raw materials. As a boy in Southern California their use to be mountain ranges between Los Angeles and Riverside County (Inland Empire, high desert of California). They are all gone, even the small mountain ranges between Riverside and the boarder of Nevada are gone so the weather system from the Pacific just barrel thru Southern California and hit the low end of the Sierra Nevada ranges without much holding (causing our water shortages and the drying up of the Colorado River as the north of California is trying to provide all the water for the millions of people in the desert known as Los Angeles County. As all have read the national movement to open our national lands for their raw materials to supply the global economy is destroying the natural ecosystems of this planet - at this rate we will have to move to another planet if we do not get our act together and understand we cannot tear down mountain ranges meant to hold storms to let their rain fall in our deserts here in California (e.g., eight year of drought and not looking like any rain in the future) and our middle of our county get "super storms" as our east coast has a perpetual winter syndrome. As an educated society to allow this greed and global conglomerate profit taking and the expense of human existence on this planet is odd, yet we continue to use the belief that this planet has infinite resources to plunder; unfortunately for our government there is not NEW WORLD to take, the Oceans of our planet are junk yards of trash from our throwaway society created by this drive in the "bigger is better" theory that in the end all we are consumers and not human beings living on a planet of finite resources that we must adapt and allow our minds to find solutions instead of staying the fatal course of profit, profit, and the death of our planet. I still stand amazed that nobody sees the problem of cracking the earth's crust to gain a minuscule amount of "dirty oil" for European profit as the American taxpayer pays for the cleanup and leaks. For the sake of their pension plan investments our great or grandchildren will have no planet at all to live on - strange trade off - as we allow this process to continue as we fear the huge conglomerates we have allowed to be created, as we allow the fighting amongst parties (actually this is a one party system not two) which splits our people into camps of for and against, we do not take our brightest minds warnings which have been there since I was a child 60 years ago; we are facing nothing no other great society from Rome to now has not faced, how do we keep power and make everyone need us, well our money is running out, our industry shipped to other lands that are now asking for minimum wage so pricing in the US is soaring as we cannot even make a pencil. Our workforce is now part of a 3rd world education system that once was the envy of the world, our industry is overseas and not paying taxes to support our government, the merchants remaining are being stripped dry like our Post Office paying its pension 15 years in advance as the government uses the 5 billion a month for other general expenditures is criminal. More stupid is this idea we cannot pass a complete budget in 42 years, continuing resolution yet all we hear is the debt side - does anyone (average American that has never been a merchant or accountant) know that there are two sides to a budget, debt and the one they never talk about assets - how much is America worth: $269.6 trillion (2008 Q1) with a debt of $50.7 trillion (2008 Q1); clearly much better than the average household debt; as we listen to this "election 2016 talk about how much we are in debt" it is so sad to see people fall for it and go to the polls and vote in people that continue to hide these facts from the people at large, who is screaming about the debt more and who is trying to regain power after 47 years in it - business has come first, business are now and have human rights, religion has taken over even the VA were Bible Studies are required - so for me our founding fathers must be rolling in their graves to see the land they created become the land they fled from. Hope all is well, me another American Veteran killed by our own nation as the School of Medicine is more important than caring for our veterans, 4th year my glaucoma exam and cataract exam have been cancelled for "Student Orientation) I have had a new cardiologist every 2 months; who just graduated from Residency, yet I am 15 years of heart disease. If the American People knew that every 3 minutes a veteran die's from student mistake they would ride the VA of the School of Medicine, yet the 37K salaries for Doctors would not attack anything that it does not now those that were sued out of the private hospital system and the VA is moving towards NP and PA as they cannot attack any competent doctors. As these doctors get the "Student Brown Noise" effect I get 22 heart attacks, 16 by overdose, 6 overdoses, 2 allergic reaction unchecked, now beaten up by one of their employee they allow me to be damaged more as they hide this employee from the DA here in San Francisco. I have never seen such a institutional corrupt place in my life where teaching comes first and the veteran is the school book for them to do as they wish, but wave that flag to get that vote every election cycle.
