Faulkner, Thomas O., 87, passed away April 22, 2015 at Reed's Cove Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, Kansas. The son of Jacob and Florence Faulkner, he was born January 24, 1928 in Manhattan, Kansas. A past president of the Kansas Hospital Association, he was a hospital administrator for over 40 years. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a 1951 graduate of Kansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, a longstanding member of Rotary International, loved working and taking care of his yard, playing tennis, basketball, and golf. He attended St. James Episcopal Church. On August 15, 1953 he married Susann Lovelace in Wichita, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include 1 daughter, Lynn (Bill) Simon, Wichita, Kansas; 3 sons, Tom (Tanna) Faulkner, Hutchinson, Kansas, and, Tracey (Tina) Faulkner, Wamego, Kansas, Michael (Kim) Evans of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Whitney (Jared) Hamilton, Brian Farrell, Michael Farrell, Sean (Heather) Faulkner, Ritchey Farrell, Jessica (Kyle) Flax, Jenny (Matt) Anderson, and 1 step-grandson, Jonathan Schmidtlein; 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Old Mission Mortuary, 3424 E. 21st, Wichita, Kansas. Per his request, casual attire with purple shirts should be worn by guests to represent HIS CATS. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Reed's Cove Rehabilitation Center of Wichita, Kansas or the KSU Cancer Research Center in Manhattan, Kansas and left in care of the funeral home.
