Mary Birdella Lovelace d/o Turner L and Samantha Lucinda Ashe Lovelace Mary < Turner < William b abt 1808 TN <... out of my scope Hazel White Stewart, 89, of Catawba passed away on April 12, 2015 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. She was born December 31, 1925 in Swain County, NC to the late John Howell White and Mary Berdella Lovelace White. Hazel was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba where she was a former member of the Methodist Women and Sunshine Group. She retired as a supervisor in the furniture industry and had also worked in the cafeteria at Catawba School. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Everette Franklin Stewart; sisters, Nora Belle W. McMahan and Retha Mae W. Land; and brothers, Lowell White, Virgil White, Zeb White, Wade White and Edgar White. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her son, Frank Stewart and wife, Katrina of Catawba; daughter, Michaele Stewart Day and husband, C.K.; grandchildren, Katie Stewart Fuller and husband, Matthew, Whitney Stewart Little and husband, Eric, Casey Franklin Day, Logan Michael Day, Ryan Garrett Day; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Stewart Fuller and Reagan Claire Fuller; sister, Maude White Caldwell of Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba with Rev. Stephen Shytle and Rev. Joe Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catawba United Methodist Church, PO Box 186, Catawba, NC 28609.
